  How very sad....maybe I'll meet him at a Dunkin Donuts and never know it...that's a New England joke...

  I liked his webcam last year that showed our snowstorm.

  as the clerk was ringing up the sale, she said "phone number please".

  I also live in Massachusetts...and I have noticed this trend at Sears, Gymboree, Toys R Us, Babies R Us, and The Christmas Tree Shops.

  I know a lot of stores will ask for my zip code...

  I think its annoying...and I usually say 508-555-1212. Since the cashiers are usually so highly intelligent they don't get that its not our real telephone number.

  To me its no different than the grocery stores tracking everything I buy with my special savings card.

  But I can definately understand your irritation.

  Have you ever just wanted to pick up and leave?

  to just leave and tell no one where you are going.

  start over fresh in a new place where nobody judges you based on your past.

  I have wanted to pick up and leave and I did do it.

  I moved from California to Massachusetts. It was the best thing that I have ever done for myself. I moved away from my family and stood up on my own 2 feet.

  The only bad thing is being close to my husbands JW family and friends. But it has taught me to be very self reliant and made me strong in so many ways.

  My mother took me to see Simon and Garfunkel when I was very young and I saw them again later in life....my mom was a wanna be hippie wild child. She also took me to see Kiss, Peter Paul and Mary, The Rolling Stones and Neil Diamond....

  And no she is not, nor never was a JW...

  I remember my mother after my parents got divorced driving in our old plymouth with the 8 track blaring singing....I am a rock I am an Island.....it was her theme song.

  What is the most unique name you've encountered?

  this question comes to mind right now because i seem to be surrounded by pregnant women.

  3 of the mom's in my sons' kindergarten class of 12 - are pregnant and in the other classes i notice a similar trend.

  it's not a large school - maybe 60 kids max between the preschool and kindergarten.

  Okay...some more odd names I've encountered.

  My husband's doctor - Dr. Marshall Toxin - he's passed on now. I had a Dr. named Dr. Power.

  I went to school with a Sandhu Sandeep, and 3 brothers - Harminder, Rupinder, and Jasminder.

  There was a teacher at my school named Lil Poteet.

  I had a client who was named Jack Bustaman and his daughter was Jackie Bustaman.

  quite often we maintain a polite silence about others when we'd really like to tell them to shut the hell up, that they're pompous, or ignorant, or simply a pain in the ass.

  i was chatting with my wife on my way home from work, and she mentioned a news story she heard about a mother who drowned her 5 children...we were talking about how that is so inconceivable.

  she told how she was talking about it with her mother (another devout jw) and stating how that was just unbelievable, how could a mother do this.

  her mom answered, "well you know those that dont fear jehovah, act under the influence of the devil".

  They are no better than regular people....What about all the pedophiles who steal innocence from little children and change them forever?

  My mom is one of 9 children. 5 girls/4 boys. All the girls have the same middle name...Lee

  I was blessed with the same middle name....bleck!

  Anyone else have any of these wacky family traditions? If I ever have a daughter she is definately not getting Lee as a middle name!
